noone goes home whistling the lights
It was important to me that the last part of the piece was completed when I returned to Spain, to the beach where the first writings occurred, to view the scene and notice the place, my emotions and my thought process.
The images for the last piece are as they occurred, they hold me in the space, stepping into the piece, appearing in it as shadow and movement. This was a conscious and important creative choice, like owning the piece. Of immersing myself in the moment of reflection and noticing the changes.
It was important to contain the movement, the cyclical nature, the environment. It was important to be minimal, to be raw, to be poignant.
The narrative for this, is changed, it is different from the previous erratic samples, a calm, at ease, less words, more thoughts and in a sense when creating it, shows a journey travelled and the spirals of life a full turn of the earth, ever moving, nothing remaining the same, grounded by natural occurrences of the waves, the exploration of pebbles, and fascination of the sounds from the sea scape.
It closes the piece.
It honours the subject matter.
Footsteps in the sand , walking towards the sea, washing clean the past, the ritual element of the piece, starting a fresh, links could be seen as religious, a rebirth. or passing to another stage.
