Its still dark outside, although its 7.16. The kids are still in bed, its there first day of school today, VLE and Covid Tests. Its -3 outside, I went out to have my morning observation on the world and a cigarette and the tips of my fingers and toes went numb, the cold coming this time from the air but from the ground, The cats decided not to bother, standing for a moment on the mat, and when i turned to go back inside they followed - too cold for them, and why would you.
The semester break has been a time of reflection, of finding the balance lost over the past year with all the changes. It has been a time of acknowledgements and is also a time of focus and certainty in my very uncertain life. I return to my Development programme to support that journey and this will support the progressions I will be making in the next six months and the future also, new jobs continue to be on the horizon, and this will need calmness of mind and discipline to ensure that my creative practice and the new role remain at the forefront. There will be a shedding of things - I call them things because I am not sure what they are, some of it is with change of attitude, recognising my head space and remaining true to that. The kids are up, yesterday on the way to London I listened to the story future podcast around immersive content creation. Interesting. This is the link to the web page, although I listened on Apple podcasts . www.storyfutures.com/resources/storyfutures-academy-podcast Episode one was interesting, explained how VR/ AR / MR are hard to define as are changing and that the future they feel is that mixed reality will become the normal, AR glasses becoming a norm in the next few years. The podcast talked about games development as a platform to build from, that the process is collaborative, that creatives could learn a bit of coding and coders explore creativity as this bridges the gulf. The podcast is aimed at practitioners who are more film based at present so some of the processes discussed are not from my sectors as I know it, however, part of the collaborative working and equalities that that can bring is of interest to me. I will report back. Comments are closed.
