Steve Jeyes sent out a request for profile pics: last minute I have decided I will use it to develop my re-learning of photoshop :
Every year we hold a student competition to collect a set of profile images to use each month on the Writtle Design Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube channels.
You’ve sent us some great images in the past, and now we need a new set.
Your image(s) could be abstract or realistic but it’s important to bear in mind that the Writtle Design channels should be able to represent our Art and the Environment and Landscape Architecture and Garden Design courses (at degree and masters levels). You might also consider a range of images that reflect seasonal variation, have different surface qualities, or show aspects of your life at Writtle. For consistency, when launched each month, the logos will include the WUC white shield as a central element (see below for examples).
You can submit up to 5 images, so choose your best ones. You should email your submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org
We’ll be launching the new profile images on the first Monday in November, so the deadline for submissions is on Friday 22nd October, just 3 weeks’ time!
We look forward to getting plenty of awesome submissions, and we’ll use a new one every month (we also have a special competition for the Design Degree Show).
To help you construct the logo I’ve attached a Photoshop template with a layer containing the WUC shield at the correct size and position.
You can just submit an image that you think would work as a background to the shield and I can ‘construct’ it for you.
Otherwise you can use the shield logo .PSD file and submit that (with layers and a new title).
A challenge on a challenge!! I have also in the same time observed a Quality Assurance standardisation for PR and Communication - ironic, but has been useful in terms of reiterating the reasoning behind communicating brand forward. More to follow ....
